St Martin's School Barbados Sports Tour: A Trip to Remember!

Over the half-term break, 65 pupils and eight staff members from St Martin's School set off on the long-awaited cricket and netball tour of Barbados — and what a tour it was!

The cricket team showed real determination and skill throughout their fixtures, securing two impressive wins and narrowly missing out on a third victory in a thrilling T20 night match, losing by just two runs. Max Proctor was named Player of the Tour for his outstanding bowling and smart decision-making while batting. Wiktor Berkowicz was awarded Most improved Cricketer and the Best Male Attitude prize went to Finley Pamment.

Meanwhile, the netball team lit up the courts with their energy and teamwork, winning an incredible six out of nine matches, with one draw, against strong and physical opposition. Bella Jones was awarded Player of the Tour for her calm, composed shooting across all of the A team victories. Evie Cross was awarded Most Improved Netballer and Best Female Attitude went to Freya Lee.

Beyond the sporting success, the tour was packed with unforgettable experiences. Pupils enjoyed a fun-filled day at the Boatyard Beach, fed monkeys at the Barbados Wildlife Reserve, and explored the island on an exciting off-road jeep safari. One of the most magical moments came aboard the Tiami Catamaran, where pupils swam with turtles and stingray in the crystal-clear Caribbean waters. The group rounded off their adventure dancing the night away at the Harbour Lights Extravaganza.

It truly was a once-in-a-lifetime trip, filled with friendship, fun, and memories to treasure forever. The pupils represented the school with pride, positivity, and plenty of personality throughout. Plans for the next tour in 2027 are already underway!
