St Martin's Trip to China 2025

During the summer, ten Year 11, 12 and 13 pupils accompanied by Mrs. Page and Mr. Foster, Headteacher, travelled across the globe to take part in the Nanjing Sister Summer Camp in China, alongside peers from schools across Europe and Southeast Asia.

Throughout the trip, pupils engaged in a range of cultural and educational activities, including guided tours, sightseeing, team building exercises, Chinese calligraphy, and gold leaf workshops. A memorable moment was the 400-step climb to the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, followed by a reflective visit to the Nanjing Massacre Memorial Museum.

A highlight of the week was the visit to our partner school, Hankai Academy, where our pupils delivered a presentation and performed selected Shakespearian monologues. The trip concluded with a fun-filled afternoon at Tangshan Water World, where pupils enjoyed the lazy river and water slides, a welcome break from the heat.

On the final day, the group travelled by high-speed train to Shanghai before returning home bringing with them unforgettable memories and a deeper appreciation for Chinese culture.
